Spotlight School of Speech and Drama was formed in 2009 and specialises in providing speech, drama, oral communication and business focused sessions for people in the Manchester area.
Our company is not a franchise. We provide a very personal teaching service which is tailored to suit the individiual needs of our students.
We offer traditional group and individual children's drama lessons and also provide a wealth of other communication development related services for adults at www.spotlightcommunication.co.uk.
All Spotlight sessions are being taught face to face in the Hiya community room in Sale, Manchester or for students who are unable to travel to our central location we have options available via Zoom.
Current Exam Plans:
- LCM face to face exams will take place in Manchester along with some virtual exam options during the school day in holidays and term time (virtual exams only available to those taking a course of one to one tuition)
- LAMDA's face to face exams will be available in Manchester as usual. Please visit the LAMDA website for the latest information
Lessons and Opportunities
Children attending our fun and fast paced weekly classes also benefit from a full calendar of events as the face to face world opens up for us again. Children can select courses for special events such as festivals and competitions, exams and performances. Spotlight is regularly approached by casting agents and television programmes to take part in productions. We were the voices and faces of the CBBC Christmas choir and we regularly attend auditions and interviews for other exciting projects. All children attending group and private lessons are considered for any opportunities that come our way.
Professional Qualifications
With links with LAMDA, The National Theatre, The University of West London and The London College of Music, students and clients can take exams in speech and drama, oral communication and other performing arts and professional subjects.
In the UK, the LCM graded exams are accredited by Ofqual, DCELLS and CCEA at Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the National Qualifications Framework, and UCAS points are awarded for higher grades.
